About the Lied - Overview

Welcome to the Lied!

We hope the first thought that comes to your mind when you look through the 2010-2011 season is a resounding "Wow! What a great season!" We invite you to gather your family and friends to see the world's finest artists take the stage at "Nebraska's Home for the Arts."

2010-2011 is filled with something for everyone...the best of Broadway, the finest classical musicians, premium cultural arts, superb dance companies, the most excellent theatrical programs and even a little handpicked country music.

The Lied Center is a place where life's memories are made--where you introduce your children to the amazement of live entertainment, where you gather with friends after a day's work or have that special date-night-out for the 1st or the 500th time.

Beyond the main stage shows, the Lied Center provides extensive arts education outreach programs to youth. Young people see shows in the theater, interact with artists one on one and have life-changing experiences through AdventureLIED. Thousands of children are touched by the magic of the arts each year at the Lied Center.

The Lied Center's future will feature more artists of distinction, including big-name artists who define excellence. As part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, we will continue to bring the arts to students and provide them a well-rounded education. The Lied will continue our tradition of commissioning new works of art, serving the entire state of Nebraska and building on our role as a national leader in arts programs.

Thank you for being a part of the Lied Center, "Nebraska's Home for the Arts"! Be sure to look at the many upcoming programs and visit us often. We are so glad that you joined us for what many patrons are calling one of the best series of performances in Nebraska history. Hope to see you again soon!

Bill Stephan
Executive Director
