The Lied Center staff and performing artists prepare performance or curriculum guides that are specially designed for Pre-K through 12th grade teachers, to enhance pre- and post-performance classroom learning. These guides include information about each Lied performance (the performers, the nature of the performance and the art forms represented, etc.), grade-appropriate lessons for in-classroom activities and relevant curriculum resources to increase student retention by connection with an out-of-school experience. Correlated with Nebraska State education requirements – the Nebraska Standards and the National Arts Standards – the curriculum guides also include connections to complement what teachers of all grade levels are already teaching in the classroom.
