Arts Across Nebraska

Arts Across Nebraska connects Lied Center artists to Nebraska communities throughout the state. We provide up to three tours every year at an affordable rate to presenting partners. The Lied is responsible for contracting with the artists, routing, and providing technical assistance. Each tour stop includes public performances, student matinees, and educational outreach. More information about our 27th season can be found below.

A library is a space of wonder and imagination, where you can find every story that ever has been and ever will be. But what goes on Beyond The Bookshelves?

Bookworms is an original, highly visual and multi-sensory performance combining storytelling, movement, and puppetry. As audiences are welcomed by The Storyteller into a typical library story time, something strange starts to happen. The stories are not how The Storyteller remembers them! The mischievous bookworms take audiences to Beyond The Bookshelves where they help restore the stories.

Christina and Andrés can’t find their friend Juana, and their only clue is that she’s somewhere in the Americas. Join GRAMMY and Latin Grammy Award-winning 123 Andrés in this lively, interactive concert to search the continents and learn about geography and music along the way. The audience will be a key part in this rich journey brought to the stage with colorful, exciting visuals. Andrés and Christina, both native Spanish speakers, incorporate language seamlessly, empowering students to sing in both Spanish and English, as well as moving and dancing. Learning has never been so fun!

“Stunning, Superb, Powerful …” says the Los Angeles Times of TAKE3: Where ROCK meets BACH, featuring the music of popular artists, including The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elvis, Neil Diamond, Imagine Dragons, and crowd favorites, “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Hallelujah,” “Game of Thrones.” “Stand by Me,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Featuring musicians trained at the world’s top conservatories, this unique trio of violin, cello, and piano brings together the power and energy of rock music with the sophistication and beauty of classical Bach.
